Frequently Asked Questions

Do you pierce children’s ears?

Yes. We pierce children’s lobes, typically ages 5+

Minors MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parents must provide valid identification. Legal guardians must bring papers proving guardianship AND valid identification. *Your child must be of age to consent verbally to the piercing, if their answer is “no”, so is ours.

What types of identification do you accept?

We accept valid driver's licenses, passports, birth certificates or state-issued identification cards. Please note, parents may not provide legal consent for their children after their 18th birthday.

Do you use a gun?

We do not use piercing guns in our studio. We use single-use, hollow, beveled needles, as is U.S. industry standard. Piercing guns cause harm, for a number of reasons we do not use them. Please contact us, we’d be happy to discuss why.

What are “body friendly materials”?

When we talk about body friendly materials, we mean jewelry comprised of substances proven to be safe for long-term wear. These materials will not leach chemicals into your body, and are least likely to trigger a negative reaction from the tissue inside and surrounding your piercing. These materials are implant-grade and meet or exceed ASTM standards.

Can I bring my own jewelry to be pierced with?

As a general rule, no. In an effort to give you the safest piercing experience and smoothest healing possible, to verify material and sterility, Sand Panda will not insert any jewelry that hasn’t been purchased from our studio into a fresh piercing. There are few exceptions to this rule. Thank you for understanding!
